This is most of my "modern" knives. I started making knives by putting together Blades n' Stuff blades. Those are marked with my initials "WKS". When I started making my own blades, I started marking with my custom stencil, a shooting star and "Stockwell".

Machete! This is 1084, forged, with a clay heat treat. Oak handle. The new owner sent me a "potato chip" cut from a limb after he used it in his yard. SOLD

Ballock dagger. 13" single edge spearpoint blade, 18" OAL. 5 1/4" false edge. 1/4" 5160 blade steel, edge quenched with visible hardening line. Handrubbed satin finish. Carved beautiful walnut burl handle. Brass and copper fittings. Sheath is carved leather with brass chape and throat; a carnellian is set on the throat. SOLD

Straight back fancy bowie knife. 6 3/4" blade, 12" OAL. 1/4" 1084/15N20 dramatic pattern-welded steel by Ray Coons. Blade was marquench hardened by Howard Clark. "Flame" pattern file work along entire spine. Nickel silver guard with peened copper spacer next to blade. Handle is fossil walrus ivory and stabilized koa burl with mortise tang construction. Custom bowie. This knife was made for a custom order. 8" clip point bowie with false edge, 13" OAL. Blade has extra belly at the "sweet" spot for added cutting ability. 1/4" 5160 steel, fully hardened and triple tempered with spine drawn back. Handrubbed satin finish. Nickel silver guard. Hippo-tooth ivory handle with stabilized koa butt. Handle has a nickel silver spacer, almost a small subhilt. Carved leather sheath. SOLD

Forged rail road spike knife. 4 1/2" drop point blade, 9" OAL. I picked up this spike near the ABS Bladesmithing school in Old Washington, Arkansas. The spike was marked "HC". The spike was hand forged, with the handle twisted at the butt flattened down some to make the knife sit better in a sheath. Edge quenched and triple tempered. Buffed mirror finish. Leather sheath.
